Very well done for testing, measuring and checking

Bought this thermometer as a spare so have not used it yet but feels heavy/hard. I use the same as this one and it works fine! I will buy another one if I ever need a replacement part.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I really wanted to like it!

The thermometer is quite solid and comes with gaskets/washers etc. However the screw on the back doesn't move the pointer so the thermometer is unusable as I couldn't calibrate it (it was 4 degrees high). Damn.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Unusable features

Worried about a leak but no problem.

I was a little worried when I got this thermometer because I thought the mounting design on my stove might leak where I drilled a hole in the stove for the mounting. Since there are metal washers on both sides instead of a seat welded on one side, I figured this would allow the fluid to run down the threads and bypass the rubber washers (makes 4). So I used teflon pipe tape on the threads and had no problems.

Pros
  • Large fit for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Accurate and well made

This thermometer is made entirely of stainless steel. It has some weight so you know it's not tin metal. I checked the accuracy with a digital thermometer and it was accurate. It also has an adjustment screw on the back in case it needs to be calibrated later.

Cons
  • Not sure

Easy to install and calibrate

I bought this for my stove. It mounts very easily with the included washers and fasteners. The thermometer has an adjustment screw on the back for calibration. I was able to calibrate it with cold water and my digital thermometer. The face is large and very legible. Haven't used it in brewing yet but I'm sure it will work well. It comes without instructions.

Cons
  • No instructions

Worried about a leak but no problem.

I was a little concerned when I received this thermometer as I thought it might leak onto my stove due to the design of the bracket where I drilled a hole in the stove for attachment. Since there are metal washers on both sides instead of a seat welded on one side, I figured this would allow the fluid to run down the threads and bypass the rubber washers (makes 4). So I used teflon pipe tape on the threads and had no problems.

Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
