Just what I needed

Not only did it arrive 3 days earlier than expected, it is a fantastic machine. Downloaded full installs of AutoCAD and Inventor in under 20 minutes. Feels great, runs great, easy to start. I've had the Y series for many years and I love it. This one smokes.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Slim, durable, reliable

I've had this laptop for 2 weeks now and am very happy with its performance. I use this for programs like Photoshop and Lightroom and this system handles them both with no issues. Love the mind pillows, they are simple but durable, just what I need. OK

  • Decent performance

Great laptop - computer and accessories

Great laptop for anyone who doesn't just work in the office and surf the internet. Very fast and the memory expansion options are great. Lenovo has always made rugged laptops. I am very happy with the laptop itself. Note: If you have a Thunderbolt dock - make sure the firmware is up to date - the older Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 dock seems to be having network issues - I can't see my NAS for example. with the Thunderbolt Dock network adapter. MS blames Lenovo and vice versa

Lenovo Good/OEM Original not very good

Good computer. Just go to the Lenovo website. These people wish well, but they will resort to unnecessary tricks to get any guarantees.

It goes pretty smooth. Choose a machine with 32GB of RAM for .

[UPDATE: 4 months in use] It has been 4 months since I bought this machine and used it daily. Overall, it's really efficient due to its high specs, and I don't have to worry about opening too many workspaces or downloading too many files as its storage and memory requirements are huge. well, as I would like. My usual workload isn't very heavy: <5 terminals, many, many browser tabs (I find Firefox eats quite a bit of battery), code editors are always on, sometimes Spotify plays. And the…

I'm glad I made the jump after a lot of research and consideration.

When I faced the reality that it was time to buy a new laptop, the options were overwhelming. I knew that buying a top-of-the-line device for over $2,000 would be overkill, but I also wanted to stay away from budget laptops that would only be a source of frustration 18 months from now. good option but Lenovo uses naming and numbering conventions all the time. I finally settled on the P15, which is often overlooked in favor of the E Series and other lines. My only reservation was that a…

So far so good (Day 3)

UPDATE 6 months later: The integrated webcam has stopped working and appears to be a hardware issue. Happy to report my P15 Gen 1 out of the box, plugged in and working great up to day 3. It looks like the OEM did a great job switching the stock RAM and throwing in 64GB. But it's very early days - too early to say more, as I'm hoping that choosing this over one of Lenovo's thinner laptops means it's a little less likely to have any issues (not that I'm much had with my old t15 tbf but be…
