That saved my engine

I broke my harmonic balancer bolt and half of it was left in the crankshaft of my 2002 Mustang GT and saved the engine! It was the perfect size to run the faucet and install the helical coil. I also used Permatex Red High Temp Thread Sealant on Helicoil to make sure it stayed in place. I am so thankful that this product exists to say the least.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Dear

Oil Pan Thread Repair

This thread repair kit did the job and it was pretty easy. The only downside to this kit is that it requires a 3/4" drill bit to drill, which most people don't have. I had to sharpen the drill bit to fit my drill bit. The rest of the kit worked great. You need a faucet handle for the faucet. Take your time cutting new threads. You will need a new drain plug, which of course will be larger than the original.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Beware. You'll need a 3/4 " drill bit and a 1/2 " tap handle

Need a 3/4" drill bit though!? Just know! I have didn't think it through and am now buying myself a separate 9/16" drill bit (which honestly the manufacturer should have made) with a 1/2" shank instead of a 3/4" shank for over $100 ." punch which I will use once. I'm giving 3 stars because apparently it works fine once I have the right bit and grip to hit and technically it's not the manufacturer's "fault" but in my opinion this is a pretty big oversight. I bet 99.9% of people don't have a…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
