100% Big Fat Lies - Thread & Floss

I wanted something that was easier to work with than the 100% polyester embroidery thread I've bought before. This yarn is described as 100% cotton, but it is exactly the same as polyester fabric, which will not separate and, if viewed the wrong way, will tangle into a useless mess. I knew the metal part couldn't be cotton. , but stupid of me I thought the metallic was threaded with cotton thread. nope Just expensive, useless crap.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Long time to ship

Haven't tried embroidering with them yet but they look good quality and the colors are what I expected. It seems that most sets have gold and silver, but this one runs the gamut from copper to silver with lighter and darker and more and less yellow gold tones. Noble tones are great too. Neon green really is out of place as others have said, but this set is worth it without it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Beautiful colors and easy to use

I started making friendship bracelets during quarantine and wanted to add some sparkle and this thread is perfect. The colors are so vibrant and very popular and there was a really good selection in this pack. The threads are a bit stiff, as you'd expect from metallics, but not so hard that they're difficult to work with, at least for my purpose. I've read some reviews about fraying, but I tied a small knot at each end before using and had no problems. I love them and will definitely buy them…

Pros
  • Chic design
Cons
  • No machine

Includes 10 metallic colors and 2 solid colors Coated

I contacted the seller 'ThreadNanny' and they said that 'these 2 colors are also metallic threads as per industry standards' but that is very clear personally , that the neon green and hot pink colors are only covered with foil or paint to give them a brilliant shine. Neon green and pink colors do not contain a metallic effect. All other colors are truly metallic. You can even tell by touch that the pink and neon green threads are plated differently than the real metal threads.

Pros
  • High quality 100% cotton
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Pretty metallic colors but requires some work

This set of metallic embroidery threads was just what I was looking for. I needed gold, red, green and purple. All colors are beautiful. Remember that working with it is difficult and time-consuming. It is constantly worn out, and the strands seem to separate on their own. It gets tangled as you sew, so you'll have to take the needle out and smooth out all the threads. If you are patient you will get great results. It works with a needle threader that I use to embroider with cotton thread.

Pros
  • Perfect for hand embroidery
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

PRODUCT INTEREST - APPLICATION NOTES

This product has a stiffer wire and is good for adding shine to embroidery. First, there are about 12 very thin threads in each skein, and separating them isn't really an option; So work with the thread without dividing it. Also, the ends seem to want to flare or unravel at the cut end, so I choose a length and tie two knots about 1 inch apart and trim in between to keep it from fraying. at the ends, then at the end where you thread the needle, make a new slit at the other end so you can thread

Pros
  • 12 different colors per set (pink and white colors not included)
Cons
  • Available in white only
