17717 Thrush Turbo Performance Exhaust Muffler Review

I put this muffler on my 2001 Ford pickup. Nice and quiet, was able to assemble it with adapters from an auto parts store and a bit of welding.

High quality muffler perfect for my '97 4.0L Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since I only paid a few bucks for the low resonant tone of the Thrush muffler, I think it's worth it.

Slightly quieter than the 14 inch model. It's almost identical to the factory volume, just a bit of a buzz. If you are looking for more tranquility, like being in a factory, then go for this. If you want that noticeable rumble, go for 14 inches instead of 20.

This muffler was replaced with the same muffler after only 30,000 miles. The insides were rubbed through the skin from the inside out. Which sounds like rust, although there was no rust. The price is ok to try again and see if the next one lasts longer.

I bought a 17717 throttle muffler for my full size 5.0 V8 Ford Bronco 89 and it was too quiet. screwed in nicely, but even with the catalytic converters removed it was quieter than just the catalytic converters. It is by no means an aggressive silencer, nor does it sound like one. I noticed less back pressure than the stock exhaust. I can only say that it is an alternative to the standard silencer without grooves.
