This worked great to fill in the grain on my oak coat so I could paint it white. I applied it by making a slurry, letting it dry and sanding it down as stated in numerous YouTube videos. Such a small jar seems expensive, but if you dilute it with water, it lasts a long time. I found a recommendation for this product while researching painting oak cabinets to hide some of the wood grain. We ended up trying it on the bathroom floor first before installing self-adhesive vinyl tiles. Don't even think about using another brand of pen. I've tried all the major brands typically sold at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. They are ok but all dried fairly quickly, were rough etc. Timbermate does not dry out, shrink, spread like butter, dries quickly and easy to sand as it is hard.
