If you are not completely familiar with the programming logic of these things, be prepared to spend a lot of time looking at the instructions and finding out what the author was trying to convey. There is a good chance you will lock yourself out of the device and get it back. They were as easy to install as any, but our information wasn't clear as we were using a central Axis 1001a controller with a Synology NAS as the central hub. The most difficult part of this product was the final set screw step on the bottom of the keyboard which was tricky to install as it rests directly against a door or wall making it difficult to line up the screwdriver with the screw and hole. . The keyboard itself is built to an impressive value. I installed it as a standalone reader/keyboard. We'll see how it holds up in a few years with -20F in winter and 100F in summer. What worries me the most is how it will be connected and routed. The board leaves no room for cables between it and the keyboard. I switched from a plastic garage door opener to this keypad primarily for the RFID capabilities. I was immediately impressed by the design of the device. Heavy metal housing with sealed electronics inside. The buttons are made of rubberized plastic which feels solid but definitely not metal like the description says.
