Bought some time ago and just had a chance to install it. When I bought my house, speakers were built into the walls of the office "office". I first connected them to the banana plugs on the trim and left them open for possible connection to an external amplifier/receiver. A few years went by and I came across this little guy. Seems to work well. My Echo Dot connected immediately. What I don't like is that the blue LED status light, although it only flashes once every few seconds, is SUPER bright and causing trouble in our bedroom in the dark. Easy enough to fix with a small piece of tape and if I really want it to stop I'm sure I can just unsolder it. Update: I finally got to the wiring. I bought this because my wife likes to listen to her "I Heart Radio" on her phone while she is cooking. And the phone's small speaker can't be heard over a hair dryer or shower. I love this little product! I bought a second one after the first one to add some outside noise. It performs well and can easily drive four 8-inch speakers. Muting begins at the highest volume settings. It always connects to my phone and the Bluetooth range is 50-75 feet with no obstacles. Cons: The blinking blue LED is incredibly bright and annoying. I was looking for a simple amp that would fit in a standard wallbox and fit the bill perfectly. A small button turns the amp on and off. There are no adjustments for bass, treble or balance.
