My Go-To Brush Lettering Pen for learning lettering

I have been using this brand and type of pen for several years and have never been disappointed with its performance. This is ideal if you are just starting to learn writing. The tip is firm but flexible enough to give nice thick and thin lines. You need smooth writing paper to keep the tips from fraying. I use HP Smooth Tracing Paper or HP Smooth Paper.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • No

Great Ink Pens

It's a close race between these pens and the Pigma Graphic 1 pens for smooth drawing in ink (as opposed to brushes or fountain pens) for me, but these are the ones bit bigger, so I like variety. Along with other pens, I use them for all types of ink drawings including comics, character drawings, city sketches. Don't leave the cap open even for the shortest time. It probably goes without saying, but it's a lesson I don't learn all the time.

Pros
  • Best in the Niche
Cons
  • I'll add later

Best for learning brush calligraphy

I'm new to brush calligraphy and these are by far the best pens to learn. The pen's plastic tip is strong enough to draw fine lines on paper with light pressure. Using a real pen with a brush, learning to make light contact with the paper without pressure to draw a fine line is (for me) the hardest part of calligraphy. Tombow grips help reduce wavy lines caused by shaky hands.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • I doubt it

Great pen for calligraphy!

Great for practicing calligraphy, these pens are perfect for beginners! I want to learn calligraphy with sharp pens, but I can't use open bottles of ink to practice at the moment. I'm afraid I might spill it. These pens are perfect for carefree practice. They respond perfectly to light pressure, create thick and thin lines, and withstand even heavy handwork from a beginner. I also like the big pack of these because I train several hours a day and that's why I'm running out of ink. It would be…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some mistakes
