Too strong for delicate pieces.

My goodness, that 2 inch clamp can really apply a lot of force. It takes two hands to open this beast's jaws, and I'm not exactly weak. My other 2" Irwin clamps are much easier on the workpiece and my hand to use. I keep them to myself, but will only use them when really high clamping forces are needed.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Repair

Long delivery time + almost too strong

The product was delivered for a long time. Upon receipt we found this clamp to be very strong and difficult to open - almost too strong for our purpose (we use it to clamp 1/4-1/2 inch diameter plastic tubing). Overall it works well, but for our purpose we probably should have just run to the local hardware store, avoided long delivery times and found a cheaper (and less durable) clamp for our purpose.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Security

Very strong clip: Clips

This clip is very strong. It's almost too strong. I personally need two hands to fully open. So if you don't need that much power in a small clamp, this isn't the best choice. I was looking for something to press two small pieces of 1/4" thick plywood together, and while this clamp will certainly get the job done, it's also a bit of a chore because I wanted to be able to put this clamp around from a set of parts to move.. another. the other is quite common and easy. that's not very good forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Very satisfied: Clamps

I decided to buy some metal spring clamps as the plastic (not Irwin) clamps I have break too easily. I decided that Irwin brand spring clamps would be a good choice given the quality Irwin bar clamp I have. (I can't believe the hardness of the stem metal. Even the cobalt-coated drill bits couldn't pierce it when I tried to make a larger hanging hole.) The spring in these 1-inch clamps is pretty strong, which is what I need. I use some of these to keep the wind from blowing off the tarp etc. Iโ€ฆ

Not what I needed or expected but seems good quality and price

Yes, like other reviewers, I am surprised by what I received. Somewhere there is a discrepancy between the pictures and the description and the actual item being shipped. Thought I'd buy a set of small (tiny) clips to work with jewelry. It's a much bigger pressure. 1" refers to the clamp head, in case you're not clear (which obviously wasn't the case for me) and I only received one clamp. When I ordered the pictures showed a set of clamps. Looks like they did they can fix that but it looks like

Very happy with the clips

I decided to buy some metal spring clips as the plastic (non Irwin) clips break too easily. I decided that Irwin spring clamps would be a good choice given the high quality of the Irwin rod clamp I have. (I can't believe the hardness of the stem metal.
