Very comfortable brackets. on Clamps

I first bought a set of these when I was installing kitchen cabinets to hold face frames together. They were really hand held and I got a second pair so I had 4 project clips. I then bought a pair for my son to use with the more basic Kreg mount as their clips were too small or too expensive. They did a great job on that.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Requires Base

I wish they were stronger built

They were less durable than I hoped. Clamping reach is longer than I expected, and the pads feel more like plastic (hard and brittle) than silicone or polyurethane (soft and pliable). If you have small jobs that don't require a lot of grip then this is a great tool. I need big, thick and strong collars.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Elegant. Good value for money ๐Ÿ‘

Not as strong as other original Irwin C-clips but work very well. I use them to repair fiberglass and also to replace fenders on the hoods of large rigs. They are more rectangular than the 11" Irwin C-Clips and allow for more neck depth for more coverage. Def recommends having at least one sentence if you use c a lot.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Negative impression

Pretty good clips but a lot smaller than I expected.

They appear to be well made and I love the non-staining plastic covers that come with them. But the listing says "Measures 13.8" x 7.4" x 1.46" so I figured the 9SP model number meant they had a reach or throat depth of 9". No, the overall length each clip is about 9" so the overhang is about 5". "Dimensions" appear to refer to the blister pack that comes with two clips! The set screws on mine aren't too loose as some have complained other reviewers.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Empty

Go to C-Clamp Tool

I work alone in my shop and these clamps are doing what I hoped and bought them for. They're the ones that are so necessary for an extra pair of hands for holding racks, mounts, etc. on a deep level. They also allow you to adjust the clamped wood to achieve the perfect height and position. I was concerned that I had just bought an expensive tool that would rarely be needed. Not even close. Cons: If you are not careful, you can pinch the skin of your finger. Pros: The tension of the clips isโ€ฆ

A bit of a misnomer - C Clamps

These are great for small jobs but their size can be deceiving. Likewise the country of origin. Using a tape measure, I uploaded 5 photos the size of my arm (which is long and skinny). They appear to be of the same style and quality as Chinese tongs. There is no country of origin marking anywhere on the pliers. I thought Irwin was an American tool company whose tools are made in the States. In this case it doesn't look like it. I suggest looking for either a US made instrument or a cheaperโ€ฆ

Sloppy adjuster screws knock off when clamp springs open

These aren't vise clamps your dad made in Dewitt-Nebraska. The adjustment screws are very sloppy and if you are not careful they will lose their adjustment when loosened. I bought four of these to work on the new roof and held the mahogany support blocks under the plywood deck through the rake while they were bolted on. I bought them because my old (bought in the 90's) 6" Vise-Grip C-Clamps didn't fit where the blocks were. Every time I opened and moved these clamps, the pressure changed. Theโ€ฆ
