Don't buy! Female to female adapters literally fall apart. The only thing holding the adapter together are the connecting nuts. Often the plug to which this adapter is to be connected also has nuts. When you unscrew the nut from this adapter - common practice - the entire adapter falls apart - 14 small parts, not counting the nuts. All the manufacturer had to do was tape or crimp the two sides together, but they didn't.

These are cute little gender change adapters. However, when working with serial connections, it is often necessary to unscrew the screws from one side or the other. On these gender changers, if you loosen the screws, the entire adapter will fall apart. I've had several of these over the years.
