I chose this device because it has 4 ways to use it versus 3 that most other devices have, although my actual use is just for the connector of a monitor to a VGA port is for my new Intel NUC with dual miniports. But you never know what other models I may need to connect in the future, so the versatility is well received and the price difference is small. It was well packaged and I have to say it looks neat and of good quality. When I first connected it to the NUC and the monitor it worked fine.

I got this for a 2015 MacBook Pro 15 inch. It's very well built, with an aluminum body, strong cable and metal connector body. I like that it has four sockets. options, while others I considered had three or fewer. I'm glad I read the fine print. This one supports high resolution monitors - mine is 3440 x 1440 - at 60Hz. Most of the others I looked at only hit 1080 or dropped to 30Hz. This unit cost a few bucks more than the smaller options.

I bought a used 2009 Apple Cinema Display to use with my late 2011 MacBook Pro. BlueRigger DVI to Mini Display is unreadable in my Lightning port. I bought this converter just in case something went wrong with the display so I could use it with another monitor. Connected and bam, everything works. UPDATE: Only lasted 5 months since purchase. Bought in the 1st week of July 2019, dead capital broke by the 1st week of December 2019.
