Having lived in apartments in New York City for most of my life, I have found water leak detectors to be invaluable. I have never used wireless home systems or systems with smartphone apps. But for the money, these are the best budget devices I've found. Most importantly, the flat sensor can be securely attached to the floor with the included tape, so water touching it will quickly set off a (loud) alarm. Many other detectors have two-point sensors that must be reached by water before they will
