Quick DIY on a budget

I have replaced two of my old eyeball ceiling lights and added two more Torchstars for a total of four. They light up my fireplace area from incredibly bright to a nice warm glow when I dim them. Easy to install and they worked great with my existing Lutron dimmer. The decorative frames blend into my ceiling as if they were installed when my house was built. For about $100, this was the easiest and quickest upgrade I've done in a long time.

Very bright and easy to install

The light is very bright (5000K) and very easy to install. The pendant light works flawlessly and is perfect for the vaulted ceilings in my house (step 3/12). My only complaint is that the junction box is marked to allow 2-12 gauge Romex wires to run into the box (allowing multiple lights to be wired in parallel). There are 6 wires in total (ground x2, white x2 and black x2). I connect boxes with 14 ga wire (less than 12 ga) and am having trouble running 6 wires in a very small compartment in…

  • Nothing here

Four of these devices are mounted on the vaulted ceiling of our living room. There used to be only one ceiling fan with light but that wasn't enough. Installation was easy if you have existing wiring or don't mind crawling into the attic. When installing on a vaulted ceiling, a fish tape comes in very handy. The only reason I gave these lights 4 starts instead of 5 is because the electrical boxes do not have a wire connection to the perforated sockets. When you puncture a wire box, the edges of

The perfect light for a bedroom with a dimmer

These lamps are ideal for the bedroom when connected to a dimmer. We've tried adding a dimmer but the light won't dim, which in itself is frustrating. We have a dark master bedroom so we decided to add light. They make it much brighter and not glare. Love the fact that you can point the light in different directions as my husband had two lamps over the bed, luckily we can point them in the corner and you don't feel the spotlight on you when you should be relaxing. We're trying to find a working

So far so good, good fit for cabinets and trim

Bought for our add-on, needed Gimbal (adjustable in multiple directions) can light up. My electrician wife is picky about specs. One of them in particular was that there shouldn't be a sufficient gap between the lamp and the housing to see the junction box. It fit the bill and he sent back others from regular stores that didn't fit the criteria so I'd say that's a very positive review for this flashlight. I don't see the junction box. They are very bright at maximum output and dim down to a…

Easy to install, bright, works well with a dimmer.

I installed 3 of these lights in my 11ft x 12ft office with a sloping ceiling. Took me about 40 minutes to install 3 lights. 5.25 inch holes in the ceiling by carefully measuring and checking for studs. =adjustable+hole+saw&qid=1582238983&sr=8-5 I connected them to my existing fan junction box which connects to a light switch. I then daisy chained each light together which was very easy with push in wire connectors. The light is almost too bright for my office, I use a GE dimmer to turn it on…

Ideal for Catheral ceilings

Match your power supplies. Determine the number of zones (number of switches available or to be installed) and where you will cut the holes. Cut 6" holes, route wires from hole to hole, with wall light switch in "OFF" position. - Plug in the 1st black junction box closest to the power supply (OFF again), place the box in the hole, connect the white wire from the box to the light, compress the springs on the light and plug put it in the hole, test the turn on the light by turning on the switch…

Three jobs out of four. Replacement works well

I bought these lamps (sold in a set of 4) for my living room last week. They were easy to install, just cut out the holes using the template provided. Fits perfectly. In terms of functionality they work great at full voltage, no issues and performance is as I expected. However, one of the displays flickers very strongly immediately after setting the quarter mark, with the other three there are no problems. I have requested a replacement. Will update this review once the replacement is…
