Works best with Railing

This wire is great. Looks like a regular wire/cable. There's nothing special about that. The only thing that would be better would be if the wire was coated (which it really isn't), but that's ok. I will use it to raise my jeep's hard top when the time comes. Generally very satisfied and the cutting tool feels comfortable.

Pros
  • Decking and Railing
Cons
  • Blank

Good price. The ends won't wear out much when trimmed with the included cutter. The price is much lower than on site. Note: Hydraulic crimping machine is required for use with fittings. I was able to use a cordless lug crimping tool set to 6mm (10AWG). So if you have one of these tools, try them first before looking for a hydraulic crimping tool.

Extremely strong cable

This is a really strong cable. I used it to place accent lights in the backyard and pool area. In the close-up you can see the equipment I bought from Home Depot to attach the cable to some metal poles dug into the ground at Quickcrete. Turnbuckles allowed me to tighten the cable to keep it from sagging. Great product for my intended purpose. All you have to do is buy the right hardware for a secure and reliable connection.

Part of a deck railing system, well done

This stainless steel cable and knife is part of a system that requires special screws, purchased separately, and a hydraulic screw crimping tool. They look well made and chic. I need to finish the top of my deck to test out the ease of assembly and am looking forward to the end result. x 7 Strand Structural Braided Steel Cable, 300 ft. Very important. best for decking and fences

I've used stainless steel wire rope on previous projects but never liked using U-cleats with bolts. A few years ago I got myself a good crimping tool and it has made the cable much easier to use. And not only is it easier, the finished project looks professional. Some of my recent cable projects have included structural cross braces for sheds and patio sheds, seismic and high wind bracing, replacing nylon webbing for tree stability, and even the squirrel method of hanging bird fat blocks. This…

good cable Like the tailor.

I am using this stainless steel cord to replace some of my old galvanized steel clothes lines that have started to rust slightly on my clothes. I tried sanding the part with steel wool but the next day when I sanded it it was even rustier. I have high humidity here in Hawaii. It turns out that stainless steel cable is a lot easier to manage, looks a lot better and doesn't kink! All pluses. I used to use a chisel and hammer on a steel plate to cut the cables, damaging the ends. The included…
