surprisingly warm, fits well under a helmet

I like to use this hat for winter cycling and commuting. Covers ears well in a helmet (I see some reviewers feel the ear cups flare but that's not an issue with helmet straps), much better than the knit beanies I've worn before. Because the material is thin, it fits well under a helmet, but still keeps your head and ears as warm as a thicker hat. balaclava. I would wear this with confidence in colder temperatures if I had a separate face mask.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

I like this thing more than I thought. It's very soft but still stays on my head when I take off my ski helmet. It covers my ears in a way that my helmet just doesn't cover. My ears stay warm even though the fabric is quite thin. The price was good and it works better than expected. What else would you like to ask? The only thought I can think of that might be a problem in the future is that this fabric is so thin that light aggressive wear could damage it, but I have no evidence that this will

Motorcycle Helmet Ear Clip.

I recently purchased this skullcap to use under my new motorcycle helmet (Scorpion EXO-T510 Cipher Street Bike Motorcycle Helmet - White/Large). The helmet fits well and being bald my ears curl up when I put it on. Using this skullcap completely eliminates this problem and also makes the helmet safer. The hat is very well made from soft, stretchy material and has strong stitching. It fits perfectly (I wear the big one in motorcycle helmets (circumference 60 cm)) and is warm and comfortable. I…

seams. Pain is best in camping

I liked this hat, that's why I bought it in the first place. However, after a few uses, I found that the seam around the cap (which also covers the ears and neck) is quite painful. I use this cap under a full face helmet. The helmet has a good fit, is snug and is designed to keep your head from dangling inside. Unfortunately, the seam is not flat and the material is complex and sewn together. After wearing the helmet for an hour, the seam cuts my forehead quite painfully. So while this…

The perfect protection for cold ears in the cold New York winter!

I now wear this hat all the time on winter runs when the temperature is below 50 degrees. It's lightweight, covers your ears, doesn't move unnecessarily, and is easy to wash(1) Lightweight: The last thing anyone needs is a heavy hat that makes them heavy or uncomfortable, it's lightweight and breathable but feels nevertheless good on. warm(2) Covers the ears: I've tried other hats that don't cover my ears completely, luckily this one covers mine completely (3) Doesn't move unnecessarily: fits…

Good, comfortable liner. However, watch out for seams on the forehead.

I ordered this last year when I switched to indoor training so haven't had a chance to test it in the cold yet. I rode in 32F weather today in 20mph winds and this liner worked great! Most of the time I didn't even realize it - meaning it wasn't too hot, not too cold and not too sweaty. I used to use headbands meant to cover my ears and I've always had problems. when they went up exposing my ears to the cold and I had to periodically lower them while driving. This balaclava did not have this…

Just what I need for cold, chilly rides

When I was shopping for new bike helmets it occurred to me that at some point on the trip I'll be doing most of my rides with this balaclava. A lot of my fall and spring trips start with the liner when we're in the 40's or 50's Fahrenheit until I warm up. I always use this item on my winter trips and commutes to work. So when I try on helmets, I make sure to try them on with a balaclava. This duvet is very comfortable. It provides excellent coverage of the head, forehead and ears without…

Great hat for the price! Plugged my ears when others didn't!

I bought this to wear under a bike helmet when cycling in winter. My previous liner hat was the more expensive Pearl Izumi hat which was good but didn't adequately cover my ears despite the ear buds. I used a thin earflap under the cap to ensure my ears were covered but thought this was getting silly and went in search of an earcap that did what it was supposed to. After much deliberation I bought this one. The cheap price was attractive (about ten dollars) and the photos in the ad looked like…

Pros
  • Ready to use: Wear our helmet cap alone or under your helmet. Wear it snowboarding or skiing. Wear it while running, working out or playing football. Damn, put it on when you do the laundry. It's so light and comfortable you'll forget you're wearing it. Like you, this skullcap is ready to go.
