We like big ice cubes. These big balls last a lot longer given their size, and to be honest, they're pretty fun tossing into a whiskey glass. We use them for tea, cocktails and many other drinks. My only complaint is that they are sometimes difficult to remove. No rhymes, no reasons, sometimes they just come out, and sometimes it's like moving a mountain. 🤷🏽‍♂️

When it comes to simple, efficient, and easy to make round ice drink balls, the Zoku Silicone Ball Mold is my number 1 for its ease of use and how easily the ball pops/pops out of the mold. The tovolo mold would be my second choice as ice sometimes sticks to the mold and the mold has to be run under running water to remove the ball of ice. Really good product, just not the best "mousetrap", IMHO.

I have had several of these sets for many years. Eventually one of them broke so I took the opportunity to buy more. The one that broke for unknown reasons, but since I bought it in 2014 and the others are still fine, I don't mind. The main reason I bought them is because they melt slower than any other shape. Plus, you only need one per drink. I keep them all in a row on the top shelf in the freezer door, taking from one and putting them back at the other end. Great system.

These molds appear to be well made and the right size. Unfortunately, balls of ice break completely when they come in contact with the beverages they are designed to cool. This exposes such a large surface area that it melts faster than a regular ice cube, completely watering down the drink within a minute or two.
