🍨 Tovolo Raspberry Sweet Treat Ice Cream Tub: Tight-Fitting & Stack-Friendly Review

A must for homemade ice cream. Beautiful, durable, easy to clean and I love how easy the lids are to take off and close. Fits snugly in the Cuisinart ICE-21R Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, and Sorbet Maker I bought. I bought two and am ordering two more. Different colored lids are great for making it easier to identify the flavor of the ice cream inside.

We have enjoyed our homemade ice cream and these containers are perfect for storing! My recipe pretty much makes two of these containers that can be shared between two people. I will say that it's super insulated, so after hitting it takes a little longer to freeze compared to a regular plastic container, but it stays cold longer and is much more convenient to use. Definitely recommend!

I bought this product hoping it would keep my homemade ice cream from going rock hard in the freezer. I want my ice cream to stay creamy and smooth like store bought ice cream and this container didn't do that. Ice cream is like a frozen rock and I have to let it sit on the counter for about half an hour before I can scoop it. And no, my freezer is not too cold. Unfortunately it is too late for a return.

I have used all kinds of containers to make LARGE ice cubes for my 1 gallon for years. I take a pitcher of water to work. Every container I've tried can give me a few weeks or even a month, but they all break due to the pressure as the ice expands. That was very annoying and expensive. This is a durable container that keeps my ice cream fresh and prevents freezer burn. Much better than a plastic dish rack. A good trick I've found is to put plastic wrap under the lid. This provides a snugger fit and prevents freezer burn. One caveat: as it's plastic, it's very slippery when placed on a granite countertop. The container itself is thick and feels solid. This, combined with my very cold freezer, makes the ice cream cold and hard. The lid, which is advertised as silicone and tight, doesn't feel particularly tight on me. Sort of like moccasins after you've worn them for a bit.
