Directions are sooooo confusing. Luckily we had another set of triops and followed those instructions. Getting the right water sounds so overwhelming. Just use distilled, it worked great for us. These instructions sound like you have to go to a fresh water source yourself to make sure the water is right. Then just remember to put them under a warm lightbulb and you'll have Triops in no time!

I enjoyed them once or twice as a kid but have ordered them again for fun. Fish can live for years, but Triops are a short-term investment. This is good for me as I am not currently living a sedimentary lifestyle. Anyway, on Tuesday afternoon I set up the incubator and after a long wait, the first calf hatched on Wednesday evening. Now it's four; I expect more as the days go by. Thank you for letting me relive that part of my past.

I bought these for my brother and we started this on Monday and now on Wednesday while five have hatched. We cover them with foil to let them rest overnight (that's what the instructions say), we heat them with a table lamp we bought at Walmart for $5 plus bulbs and they hatched in two days. We're hatching a few more eggs, so we'll see what happens. If you have someone who enjoys watching life cycles, this is a good product. I followed the instructions on this thing closely (not our first rodeo here) and my son was very disappointed when only 1 tee hatched is. I think part of the problem is that the eggs are in their own container. I flushed the container to get all the eggs in the water, but at first I didn't see anything special (maybe 10-15 black dots) in the containers. We booked Racing Triops last year and were luckier. Eggs for them are mixed with sand and everything easily falls into the container. I ordered

I rarely give bad reviews but this was disappointing. I've had 4 sets of Triops before and never had any withdrawal issues. With so many eggs I was surprised when none hatched. I followed the instructions in the letter. I tried different types of water (battle water, rain water, 3 different types of spring water and distilled water). I used other best practices from previous Triops kits and information from around the web. I also tried different temperatures, amounts of light and lighting…
