Very useful article - Remote Starter

I ordered the part and installed it on my car. Installing the hardware is easy, but you'll need a cable and software to program it. This is very useful, especially in winter when I can start the car remotely before leaving home.

Fits my 2014 Avalon XLE Touring

WARNING: You MUST have a mini VCI cable and Techstream software OR have the remote start controller registered by your Toyota dealer after installation. It's not 100% DIY without either of those two things. I have a vci-mini cable with firmware v2.0.4 and Toyota Techstream software, so I was able to register the module myself at home. Installation went smoothly, I used the Toyota installation guide that came with it. to their technicians. There was a PDF file online. Working under the dashboard

Instructions Needed: Interior

I ordered this part through Revain from Toyota of Boardman for $322.98. They sent the product in a reasonable time but did not include installation instructions. The box had a sticker that said contact your local Toyota dealer for instructions on installing the Toyota Electronic Information System (TIS). I ordered the part so I wouldn't have to go to the dealer as the price was $599. You have to pay to get to TIS. Instructions should have been included with the item upon delivery. I contacted…
