After 1 year it just stopped working

After almost a year and a half it just stopped working. Technical support is terrible. The person who accompanied me was desperate, even more than me, even though I have problems with the internet. Finally she hung up.

Great device when you get it.

I had a pretty serious problem with a boot loop on my ethernet switch. Updating the firmware and replacing my switch fixed the issue, but it was really hard to diagnose. Now everything works great and overall I am very satisfied. Update the firmware before testing the network.

Refurbished runs MUCH hotter than non-refurbished unit

Bought without knowing it was refurbished. In my house, this is unit #5, which periodically shuts down due to heating issues. The unrenovated units were fantastic! Be careful when buying refurbished equipment. They aren't much cheaper and may have underlying issues that haven't been addressed. In my case it is an overheating problem with this device.

Works well with no fiddling

I have successfully added this M5 to my M4 mesh network. Literally plugged it in, found it in the Deco app, gave it a room name and it showed up. Since it has more functions than the M4, I made it the main device. It took a few minutes to drop by, update the firmware and I was in business. It even saved all my settings, dhcp reservations, parental controls and port forwarding.

I wish I had bought it a long time ago!

Very easy to set up (and I've set up a lot of wifi extenders). I love that the app tells you exactly what to do. Very easy to reset with the app if it crashes. This gives you the ability to turn Wi-Fi on and off for specific devices (computer, phone, etc.), and parental controls allow you to control content for specific users. If the power goes out the system will come back on its own instead of forcing me to reset all the expanders in the system. A great idea!

Refurbished Models Dead On Arrival

Four months ago I installed a new TP-LINK mesh with 3 M4 modules. I have excellent coverage except for the home theater room so I wanted to add a device. I didn't realize these devices were "fixed". Guaranteed to work. I couldn't get it to see my wifi, connect to network, show up on bluetooth. Basically it didn't work. I sent it back and they sent me another device. The same story.
