TPOHH SUS304 Brushed Stainless Cylindrical Review

Revision as a contractor 36 years. Sounds like a decent grip, but concrete swatter mounting hardware is total crap. Installed 2, spent a lot of time tightening the anchor. The material is cheap, just bent and pulled out. I had to put them in place. Just load a little more and craft a product that is basically useless.

Stainless steel outside yes - but not the bottom plate - cheap material aluminium, and yes - some aluminum alloys will rust depending on the alloy that aluminum part is made of - if you buy something that claims to be as "stainless" is advertised, everything must be rust-free, especially the bottom plate, which rusts first. Crap - do not buy

This product looks very clean and modern which I found difficult to find. Note that due to the relatively thick rubber, the door may bounce and be closer to the wall than you think if it opens abruptly. So place it farther from the wall than you think you need to ensure the handle doesn't poke a hole in your walls.

Attention! If you are using a 5/16 redhead wedge waler in your floor, do not use the directions as written. I had to thread a bolt with a nut and washer into the bottom of the stop, then install it into the hole in the bottom and tighten. If you install into the floor according to the instructions, it will be too short to engage the internal threads in the stop.

Looks good and stops the door when sober adults close it. College kids and drunks, not that many. The device fails because it breaks out of a somewhat wobbly base plate. Maybe that's better than pulling screws out of the floor or warping the door. But once the baseplate fails, it's useless. It would be better if the product came with 3 spare base boards.

Looks sturdy when installed. Comes with both a flat surface mounting bracket and a 5/16" anchor bolt for mounting to a hard surface. I used the latter to install the garage floor onto concrete. Note when using the anchor: Leave a smooth sleeve about 1/4" above the surface or the doorstop will not engage the external threads of the stud. Time will tell if it will hold, but initial testing has shown that it is robust. Good ending.

The first order we ordered was not sealed properly so we received a blank padded envelope. After consultation with the company, however, a replacement was sent immediately. Excellent customer service! We removed the old bus stop that was bolted to the wall because we had installed an unevenly stacked stone and could no longer use this type of bus stop. But this one installed on the floor works great - as advertised. All units come with installation instructions.
