Great protection, great price

Really like this setup. Others have complained about the durability, but I don't overuse my gear. What I can say is that I've worn it over a hoodie for 8 consecutive hours on two separate occasions. I replaced the screen mesh with the plastic screen that comes with the kit. I did not use additional eye protection underneath. The helm and shield are sealed around the edges, limiting the ingress of sawdust over the head. I also used a separately purchased dust mask. I use it for woodturning…

Poor quality but easy to fix

I really liked it at first. Pretty comfortable and reasonable price. After only a short period of use, the ear cups fell off on both sides. It looks like they're clicking back, but they're not. I'm going to rip out my super glue and that should help. However the quality is abysmal here so be aware this is going to be a buy. Edit: 5/23/16 Upgraded to 1 star because I was contacted by a manufacturer who was willing to help. I love good customer service! Anyway, I used super glue to hold the…

READ A STAR RATE

I've been burning wood for 50 years. My Stihl helmet was recently crushed by a tree so I want to save some money. OMG who ever rated those 5 stars mustn't use this to cut wood. I can't think of where you could use that. It's cheap plastic. If you were hit by a tree it would break, it's so fragile. If you get this for cutting wood, don't do it! Buy a real helmet, not a child's toy. Safety must come first when cutting wood. I don't understand who rates this stuff but it should never be rated…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Damaged

Otherwise good quality. But the strap is too thin. The small clips holding the headband are constantly being loosened. The mesh screen is better than Husqvarna and Stihl helmets. But I returned the TR helmet after a strap issue. TR helmet I went to every chainsaw dealer in the area and found it very confusing to buy a Husqvarna because they have so many different models. Even the Pro model doesn't live up to store-to-store requirements. Worst quality Husqvarna helmet sold at Lowes (junk). I…

Narrow line between 3 and 4 stars

Failed to load media. I've been thinking about how to rate this helmet since I first used it. I cleared bushes and used it with my chainsaw, wood chipper and log splitter. I had no problem with anything not piercing either the helmet or the visor, but to my knowledge I didn't hit anything in either. The helmet is stiff but not as harsh to the touch as some other helmets I've seen. I'm sure commercial lumberjacks carry something much more durable, but for the average person at home, that's…

Affordable protection that meets ANSI

This is essential safety equipment when using a pruning saw or other outdoor power tool that throws chips and debris and has a decibel rating in the destructive range. Sexiest security system, no! If you want to look cool while cutting, get a Stihl Pro or Husqvarna system. However, if you want head, ear and face protection at a reasonable price for a weekend warrior like me, then this is the one for you. This is ANSI Type 1 Class C head protection, 22dB noise reduction, 6 point adjustable…
