Taps out way before you do.

This item is great for teaching as well as learning but sad to say the item was purchased in April and with minimal use the seam at the elbows(which are made to bend)is coming undone and exposing the padding. Guess the kids were to much for him. Warranty is 120 days from purchase so inspect your dummy often.

Pros
  • ‎Black
Cons
  • Lacks the ability to provide verbal feedback or coaching

If no regular training partner, this is a must

I was skeptical about this dummy until I finally bought the bullet and got it. No dummy can truly replace a human to practice on, but I must say this helps me fill the gap in terms of training on days when I don’t have a partner. I can practice throws on it, but to my pleasant surprise it works even better as a makeshift body to practice side mount, knee on belly, and mount drills on. My reaction and speed for positional changes and submissions have increased a lot because of just drilling on…

Pros
  • Convenient
Cons
  • Not suitable for multi-person drills or sparring

Dug is part of our wrestling family

My husband built a wrestling barn and my 12 year old son needed a wrestling partner his weight and size. "Dug” has become part of our wrestling family. Sturdy and perfect. We love Dug.

Pros
  • Wrestling
Cons
  • Can become damaged or worn over time with extended use

This is heavy! on my review.

70 lbs of dead weight is heavier than I anticipated when purchasing. Its sturdy, stands up right, the arms are stiff, and it looks just like the pictures. The only thing that I didn't care for is the strong odor it had when it arrived that lingered for a good week. Be sure to have some sort of hand protection too as it is so firm it hurts to hit.

Pros
  • This company is awsome and they have a great product
Cons
  • Requires significant effort to set up and secure

Good for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu drills

You can train doing throws, side mount escapes, triangles and armbars and drill position transitions (mount to knee-on-belly, left to right, mount to S-mount, etc.). Take the lightest one (70lb) as they are really heavy to lift and will exhaust you quickly preventing you from doing more reps of drilling which is the main point of a dummy

Pros
  • Perfect your takedowns-- throws-- submissions and strikes
Cons
  • Lacks the social and competitive aspect of live training

I got one of the 'used-good' ones with free shipping from amazon warehouse. Not the fanciest of dummies, but for the cost it seems a reasonable compromise. The exterior is what appears to be a nylon canvas with a fairly rough texture, so I wear headgear to save wear and tear on my ears. I weigh in at 230, but since I'm just getting back into wrestling I find this dummy to be the perfect weight for a lot of exercises. The main drawback I've found is that it is fairly tall (I stand 5'-11", so…

Pros
  • ‎Unisex-adult
Cons
  • Does not simulate the emotions and psychological aspects of a live rolling partner
