I used WD-40 prior to use. It's buttery smooth, even under load. I wish I had bought this a few years ago. Don't waste your money on another tipper.

This tipper is exactly what you are looking for. I made the mistake of buying an imported version from an auto parts store for a quick replacement. It was so bad that I returned it the same day before I finished the project. This one is made in the USA, has real bearings, a fine-pitch, long-throw propeller, and quality hardware. You have to go a long way up the stairs to find anything nicer. If I could give 6 stars I would put 7.

I used this to install an SBC with aluminum heads and inlet, it didn't have a water pump or accessories installed yet but it did have a gearbox. I would estimate it was a maximum of 600 pounds. When aligning the engine and transmission from an inclined position, they got caught when they slipped into the engine compartment and transmission tunnel. As it is rated at £1200 I am extremely disappointed and frustrated at the downtime.
