Transcend StoreJet 25H3 USB3.0 Portable Hard 💾 Drive, 4TB Capacity - Compact and Reliable Solution Review

The hard drive worked fine until one day it stopped working for no apparent reason. I contacted the warranty and they said I could ask for a replacement but I would have to pay for the data recovery myself. Looks a bit silly as it was due to their faulty product.

I use it every day and I love the look of the "soft surface". The speed is really good and there haven't been any "glitches" so far. It takes a little while to boot up and be ready, but once it's done, it's very durable. It's also very quiet. It replaced Seagate's 2TB, which is also a quiet and really good USB drive.

I bought two of these 4TB drives to quickly transfer data from my server and upgrade its internal drives. I opened up this BRAND NEW drive, transferred 2 years of work to it and reformatted my Drobo. Then they proceeded to transfer the data back to Drobo (within 10 hours of starting the process), the drive wasn't even mounted. Tried several cables and switching computers. Sending the disc back to Transcend who not only did not acknowledge receipt of the disc but also could not recover the data.

Excellent external backup drive for the money. Gets a little warm depending on the length of the backup, but overall I'm very happy with the Transcend drives. This is my second.

Small, compact, strong and FAST. Copy speed 130MB/s. Exactly what I found. I ordered four for my backup of old family photos and for drone footage in the field.

In general, this is a very good external drive. While it doesn't seem to perform as well as my WD external drives, the transend works well enough. The rogue look is really the reason I bought it and it definitely feels tough. I ended up buying two of these and have no regrets.

This drive replaces the 2 TB Transcend drive. It's not like the other drive failed, but I needed the extra space since I use the drive for streaming. While the previous disc was listed as military grade, I won't drop this disc just to prove my point (1 star deducted). It runs well, is quiet, and works well (no buffering) when using Plex or Kodi.

Works well so far. Time will tell if he survives. Update: crash 2 years 4 months. This HD was a backup of data history. HD has not traveled and has been archived. The HD gets hot and makes a ticking noise. When the hard drive freezes, it's excruciatingly slow for a short period of time. At this speed, it would take 14 months to retrieve data 24/7. It's probably time to invest in solid-state storage.
