You better be in front of it all the time

Thing works exactly as described but I wish it could do more. I would be happy about a device with memory, because in the current form I have to recognize the alarm and then run into the room to check the values on the display. So it would be great if the monitor would remember the minimum and maximum values from the moment you turn it on, and maybe even record the moment these events occurred.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

This item is a must for any motorhome that does not already have a voltage monitor. Excitement varies by park and campground. It's usually on the bottom. According to an electrical engineer article I read, the minimum voltage must be at least 108 volts, otherwise you may damage your main appliances such as air conditioner/air conditioners, microwave, stove/oven/ceiling fans, TV, etc. e. This monitor simply plugs into any 110 volt AC outlet where it is easy to control.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons

Great unit but erratic voltage reading

I bought this unit to monitor the mains voltage and frequency when the whole house generator is activated during a power outage. The first one I worked on gave erratic voltage readings from 119 VAC to 124 VAC though. The frequency is read accurately and stably at 60 cycles. I called TRCproduct support and they said not to do this. Measurements must be consistent. I returned it to Revain and they replaced it with a new one with a quick turnaround time. Unfortunately, the second one also delivers

Good voltmeter but check before throwing away the packaging.

I've been using them for about a decade and they're doing a great job on our remote California ranch which is completely off the grid. We can control the power level in our cubicle, laundry room or wherever we work. Of the dozen I bought, one came with a crystal that gave a reading that was difficult to see. I ended up throwing it away after trying to call the supplier once. I would advise buyers to connect a monitor to test the operation of the crystal display before discarding the packaging…

A must for generator and RV owners

I had some electrical problems in my short lived RV. Example: My microwave only lasted a year, my rooftop air conditioner failed after 2 years, my coffee maker died after 6 months. etc etc. I had no idea the generator in my RV was the cause. It delivered about 95 volts AC at 45 Hertz. This is a big problem as all 120V appliances require 120V at 60Hz. At such a low voltage and hertz it damaged my gear. So I bought this to see exactly what my alternator was doing and lo and behold the RPMs were…

i love this block It looks reliable and works well.

I like this device, it's smaller than it looks in the picture (which is actually good, makes it more portable) and displays my data really well. I bought it because we had occasional power outages, the main symptom of which is that my espresso machine's high pressure pump stopped working properly and made a grinding noise. some days. It's been like this for months. The utility, of course, denies any shutdown conditions. At least now I have reliable data on the mains voltage if everything works…

Good and bad. for voltage tester

I bought the TRC to monitor the voltage in my house and it works well for that purpose. It's solidly built and easy to read, and when I tested it on a circuit that I specifically set up as faulty, it worked as advertised. Now for what I don't like about it. 1. I want the display to show tenths. Without that ability, you can't tell if it's 122 volts or 122.9 volts, which is close to 123 volts. For me that is a big difference. 2. The instructions state that this is an RMS meter, not a true RMS…
