Surface Flaked

A large area of the surface on the 1000's side flaked off when the stone was first used. I didn't apply much pressure and used the recommended trend lapping fluid.

Not as flat as advertised but cuts very well

My rock wasn't quite flat but the rock cuts well. I couldn't bring myself to buy the lapping fluid at the exorbitant price they recommended, but after much trial and error I found that Simple Green concentrated, undiluted with water, worked very well and didn't rust the stone at all. Hope this helps someone else. The pictures show a ridge in the center of the 1000 grit side with a corresponding indentation on the 300 grit side. I used a stone dry to show a picture to illustrate the point.

Only flat to .025 "

I held the ruler against the surface and held it up to the light, the surface showed clear peaks and valleys. I switched to a caliper and ruler and measured a maximum error of 0.025 inch, which is almost a full 1/32. I made sure that when taking these measurements on the 300 grit side the tip of the gauge did not go into the grooves, both sides had about the same maximum deviation. This deflection is 25 times greater than specified and is enough to make it unsuitable for leveling the back of a…

Definitely flat enough for me.

Flatness measured with a Starett thickness gauge and straight angle. Has a very slight 0.009" end-to-end curve (1000 grit side, 300 grit side is completely flat). It doesn't curve left to right at all, so I find it for sharpening planers and Chiseling perfectly acceptable. It came with 3 small dents on the outer 2 corners on the 1000 grit side.Other small dents are obvious but none of these are on the diamond surfaces so this shouldn't affect use.enough that I can be comfortable with anything in

Fake manufacturer! Don't give money away!

Bought this diamond block after seeing an ad from Rob Cosman. Initially the block was very aggressive but after 3 knives of the cutter bar it stopped cutting material on both the 300 and 1000 sides. There are no more diamonds and there is nothing left to shoot stuff with! And that with the use of a special liquid. Thrown over $150 in Rob Cosman ads!1. The board is not level (after the stone is aligned with the diamond, it is not checked in level with a measuring ruler). The diamonds are gone…

good size Poorly processed.

I have a smaller Sharpal diamond insert that cuts well but is a bit small and has slightly raised edges. I was looking forward to swapping this plate out for this trending cymbal based on Rob Kosman's recommendations, but was very disappointed. The plate is a good size and weight. The grits are fine for me, but I would have preferred a slightly coarser grit on both sides. It was well packaged and came with a nice carry case, silicone/rubber non-slip mat, instructions and eraser. The extra…

I want to like it, but there are enough problems

I received the first stone a week ago. As many people have pointed out here, it wasn't flat. With a straight edge, I was able to insert a .005" feeler gauge between the edge and the stone. After fiddling around for a while I was able to get it down to .0015", but it was still a lot more than what was listed so I decided to send it back. A few days later I received my replacement unit and it did not meet the specifications. Satisfied, I lubricated it with lapping fluid and began leveling the new

Total Failure x2 ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Update #2: NO RESPONSE FROM TREND Totally ignored by TREND customer service via their website. I sent them two emails with no reply. TREND GETS NEGATIVE STARS FROM THIS CUSTOMER...OR CAN YOU SAY SUCK? Update: I contacted TREND via their website 2 weeks ago and still have NOT received a reply. Today is attempt #2. This is my second cymbal sent to replace the first defective cymbal which I received in February 2021. Customer service was good and a replacement was shipped promptly (March 2021) but

Best value for money if you are on a budget or short on space.

Good plate. If you don't have any others at all, start here and you'll get the best bang for your buck. The performance is very good. I have DMT, Trend and Atoma plates, 10+ between brands and cereal. The trend insert cuts the fastest. As someone who has different types, I will go so far as to briefly explain the differences I see between all of them. They are also advertised as having the thinnest of all my diamond inserts. I will buy again, yes. I have all different slabs and if I could do it
