Satisfied customer.

I wanted to see how much power different devices use. I have an old alarm clock that uses more electricity than my desk lamp. The long cord on the device prevents me from crawling to the outlet to check usage. I would recommend it.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • No power

Works but poorly documented.

Used to control the chest freezer. Instructions for all functions are missing, must be rewritten. The energy calculation function is particularly confusing, even a call to technical support did not bring any clarification. The base unit has an overly garish green "guard" bar, but the display lacks the much-needed backlight.

Pros
  • Satisfied but not reliable

Great for peace of mind

Bought to measure the energy use of a freezer in a garage in hot weather. I like it a lot more than my Kill A Watt because of the nice standalone display. The connector on the back of the device may not be accessible, but you will still get all the data. Will buy more!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Will write later

Vampire Appliances begin (within reason)!

This tool turned out great. I tested all my home appliances to see how much they use when they are "off" or in "standby" and used the results to mark each appliance as "yellow" when it is not turned off, and as "green" when it is used so little. it should not be disconnected and connected, "red" - disconnect when not in use. I also use Trickle Star's advanced extension cords and recommend them for TVs and computers! Check if your energy company offers discounts on these products before buying…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

It is UL listed! on power splitters

One of the few UL listed power meters I've found. The detachable display is a great feature. The end of the fork is on the ground, with the display at eye level. Easy to use and understand. It warmed up when 1000 watts passed through it. Split the load so I don't have that long.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • poorly designed

Great tool if accurate!

I have started monitoring the load in the house to determine the size of the backup generator. I made a lot of assumptions based on online generator sizing tools, but figured I should measure them myself. Boy am I glad I did! The internet says the fridge is rated at 700w but this monitor showed around 150w! The same goes for the freezer, the TV and a few other things. If this Trickle Star monitor isn't very inaccurate, it may have saved me from buying an oversized generator. I'm deducting a…
