Useful Items - Towbars and Winches

Simple but practical design and great looks. Time will tell if it holds up in inclement weather, but the design is so simple I don't see any issues. Works great for my own use.

Pros
  • Double hitch (from 2" to 2-5/16"), ball joint included
Cons
  • Everything under control

Destroyed in the Frost

I purchased the hitch in August and she used tractor trailers and a hay trailer for towing several times, but in December of this year the adjustment part broke in the cold. I would like to see if I can get a replacement adjuster before the end of the year and will be returning to B&W for cold winter weather use.

Pros
  • Two receiver hitch that comes with 1/2" pin and clamp, aluminum ball mount in 1" increments, raise or lower
Cons
  • Available in black only

It seems "wavy " - but it does the job.

I tested it over mountains for 8 hours at 6000lbs. It "wobbles" a little. I'm not sure how long it will last without precise treatment. The time will show. The part that secures the ball and pin is sort of "freeโ€ to me. I think it should be tighter. But then it can be difficult to remove or replace it. Who knows.

Pros
  • Ball mount adjustable up and down in 1" increments
Cons
  • Unusable features

The clutch looked ok, I had expected a clutch.

Hitch looked ok, I was expecting a hitch with a locking pin holding the ball assembly to the hitch shaft. This hitch had a pin with a locking ring. saw this clutch from Trimax, it had a locking pin. I didn't notice the change when I ordered this clutch. However, they took the clutch back for a full refund. Good customer service.

Pros
  • Aluminum ball mount adjustable in 1" increments
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Height Adjustment Pins

This is a nice clutch but has an operational problem. After the weight is pulled out the ball height adjustment pin freezes in place. I have to hit a hammer to get the loosening pin to adjust height Not the end of the world but I am concerned that the pin or pin grooves will deform over time I have not tried Pin Lube to see if that fixes the problem but i will do it

Pros
  • TRZ8AL-RP has 8" travel
Cons
  • Repair

Better use steel hitch

I loved the aluminum hitch as there were no rust issues. I have used this fastener 3-5 times. None of the trailers exceeded 5,000 pounds or 750 pounds of draw weight. The clutch is difficult to separate after each use. The height adjustment portion seems to flex just enough to prevent easy readjustment. I set the height with a rubber mallet. It's a decent hitch, but I wouldn't bet it's ยฃ10,000. I wouldn't buy it again. It is better to take steel. In addition, the balls are not rustproof, theyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Weight tested to 10,000 lbs; 1500 lbs max drawbar weight
Cons
  • old

Save money for something else.

It looked good in the box and that's where it ends. put in a cross thread, as soon as I took it out, the thread was cut off. Well, great, good thing it's reverse-threaded, like you're tightening that bolt more than the ball (250 pounds), so there's no reason to reverse-thread there. So no luck finding a reverse threaded bolt and tapping to fix it. Next is the ball joint, a lovely piece of alum, it's so loose it rattles when it's just about to be fitted to the car, it rattles with every hit, I'm

Pros
  • 100% Polished Aluminum
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
