Have used this product for many years. You have to have a keen eye to make sure you can put it on straight, otherwise it will look wavy. It is also necessary to wipe the surface with alcohol before installation as the tape will not adhere well to the waxed surface. Wipe the tape with rubbing alcohol after reinstallation as residue from the backing may remain on the tape. Let them dry, apply your favorite sealer.

As a music teacher, this stuff is the key to plenty of string instrument collars! It's easy to apply and doesn't leave too much residue when removed. It stays glued on and contrasts nicely with the black fretboard. I love that you don't even need scissors to cut off the ends and that it has a bit of stretch.
