🔌 Cisco RJ45 F to DB9 M Modular Serial Adapter by Tripp Lite - Straight (B090-A9M) Review

This adapter saved me a lot of hassle in connecting multiple computers to my KVM switch, providing smooth serial connectivity at all times. Through trial and error, I found that it also works well with other computer external components that require 9-pin to 25-pin connectivity. However, the product could benefit from a more user-friendly installation process.

HP rack systems e.g. The DL380G6 and DL580G7 anomalously offer a DB9 serial console port, like we're in 1992. HP doesn't offer or list an adapter for RJ45, and the Bangalore staff can't or won't list one. I bought a couple of COTS adapters available here for us to try out hoping to find one that worked - this one proved suitable. Current IBM and Dell systems appear to be similarly damaged so this device may work. Sun Gear conveniently offers an RJ45 serial port for *years*.

I tried to find it on several other websites. I needed a cable to program some network switches but couldn't find the right pinout for some weird Adtran switches.
