Terrible but otherwise very good quality

The strong core and large overall diameter make this cable very stiff which causes problems in tight bends. I was able to run the cable outdoors with no problem and it's been working great since it's been installed on multiple POE cameras. I ran out of wires in the office and ended up using it to trace a thin cavity in the wall. I really wish after struggling with this I hadn't but it works. It takes much longer than usual to terminate this cable as it is very tight in the connectors. I lookโ€ฆ

Not your mother's ethernet cable!

Yes, that's a real deal! It's a bit more difficult than with a thin standard cable. I used a drill to uncoil the pairs as they are thick, tightly coiled wires and not easy to uncoil by hand. I've done a few runs in my attic for PoE cameras, but no direct burial issues. Cut through the outer insulation and you will see a thin sheet of cellophane, then a thick white paper-like sheet. There is also a center divider to properly accommodate 4 couples. Not great with standard RJ-45 connectors because

POE Camera Issues - UPDATED

To my surprise, after several runs, I found that the POE functions for my cameras would NOT work with this cable! stretched the cable back to the same length. No dice. Then, for testing, I cut 3 foot lengths straight out of the box and tested. WITHOUT POE. Then I used a cheap cable from a big store, the camera turned on right away, I just don't recommend this cable, although it looks good optically, but what's the point if it doesn't work? Bummer, I finally got this cable to work with my POEโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • May damage

Thousands of dollars wasted buying many rolls of 1000 foot TrueCables Cat6 CMX cables. And thousands more, spent on the work of multiple runs, are buried underground. You were incorrectly advertised as "Fluke Certified". NO! Definitely false advertising! All of our runs failed for the same reasons. "Excessive signal loss in the cable" (on wires #1 and #2). We went back and tested the remaining unused portion. This cable has the exact same flaw. See attached images for Fluke CableIQโ€ฆ

Shorted Cables - Junk Cables

I routed the cable through the cable duct and found that 2 pairs were shorted (as indicated by the cable tester). I swapped the ends (in case I somehow got them wrong) to get the same result, 1 pair was shorted. Check the cable before I even put it in a conduit. Same result. The same 2 wires were shorted as indicated by the cable tester. On a fresh piece of cable straight from the reel. The cable is clearly defective. I've been pulling the cable and terminating the ends for ten years. I'veโ€ฆ

Will not work with RJ45 plugs over 50ft - update

This may have been done to change from patch panel to stamped patch panel but after many tries I couldn't get it to carry the signal RJ45 -Connectors about 50 feet away when connecting HD cameras. The original Cat5 cable works fine but I decided to upgrade to Cat6 for future technology. But that footage failed to carry a signal more than 50 feet away for the cameras. Several short test cords worked and were shortened to about 6 feet, although even then the resistance was so high that even theโ€ฆ
