Easy to install and will not leak after watering.

Needed to put together an air conditioning line on my 05 GTO and I decided to add an extra filter. It is easy to install and does not leak after filling the system.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Appearance

Not for metric size lines.

Nice looking product but it didn't fit my VW Passat range of air conditioners. I assumed Universal meant it, but it only seems to fit SAE dimension lines, not metric. Please make sure it fits your vehicle before purchasing.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons

Excellent product for air conditioning line repair tools

Installed for the first time and it was easy. No leaks. I installed between condenser and dehumidifier. If I could I would put it between the compressor and condenser. Protects your system from contamination caused by compressor failure

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Communication with seller

A plus in prevention!

I always install one of these (or Delco's) built in Hi-Side filters after a catastrophic compressor failure. After everything is sealed and the system is charged, I turn on the AC for an hour or two, then evacuate and inspect the filter. The filter is ALWAYS garbage. Regularly check the tightness around the compression fittings!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I will add later

Saves a lot of cleaning. And the time is

I put a couple of these on cars, the last one being a couple of Cadillacs. Unfortunately when the compressor failed the seals were damaged when I was cleaning this filter and I had to buy a brand new filter assembly. It's a pity that you can't just buy seals. They picked up all the junk and saved me the trouble of having to clean/replace the condenser.

Pros
  • inspires confidence
Cons
  • the list will be long.

Savior! for A/C Line Repair Tools

This is a MUST if you are replacing the A/C Compressor due to a catastrophic failure! I found them while gathering parts to replace my "exploded" air conditioning compressor. I received one of these and one of the similar AC Delco 15-10413 filters (I left similar reviews for both filters), one for the high and low pressure lines. I "thought" I had flushed the system well but decided to drain it and check the filters on a new compressor after two weeks. Everything worked fine but I'm a curious…

Meh - at its best - Tools and equipment

About a year after installation my compressor broke. It caught a lot of junk, but then I looked at my diaphragm (after the filter and condenser) and it was full too. So the capacitor needs to be replaced. It's not about replacing every part of your air conditioner. When someone sells you that they will save your compressor, they don't understand how air conditioning works. It goes on the high side, so after the compressor, not before. In any event, after use, catastrophic failure of the…
