A bit fussy but gets the job done

In the end it worked quite well, at least for the most part. It's a bit finicky - it took a hot minute to try to adjust certain settings and the calibration was a bit of a hassle, but once you get the hang of it it seems to work pretty well. It is also important to know your way around the kitchen. I think a magnetic back would be nice, but I suppose it might interfere with the screen. Generally pretty decent.

Yes it's a thermometer

I got this touchscreen digital food thermometer from Tuffinix and have used it a few times. This is a fairly basic thermometer and works well. They stick colored stripes on different parts of the screen, which makes it easier to see when the backlight is on, but when the backlight is off it's almost impossible to read, and you have to touch one of the touchscreen buttons to see it. It doesn't turn off temperature/time, it's just very dim with no backlight. It has multiple settings for different

The best thing about this probe is the magnetic mount and the long cable attached to the probe.

I have handheld probes with similar characteristics but you don't have to look around the cook and stick meat or liquid on them. It can stay fixed and the display can stay in one place. You don't have to read it by hand. The alert level is also good when used with things like frying oil. I often use a small amount of wok oil to cook french fries, chicken, shrimp, onion rings, or other fried foods. I have to be careful not to over or under heat when adding food. I can attach this to my metal…
