Used for Starlink for accessories and consumables

Good product, the only problem is that it is quite narrow to run and connect ethernet cables and it is a bit difficult to connect the device to something fasten, to do what you need to pull out the mother rudders, it is desirable that next to the MB there are only native holes where you can screw it into something. But otherwise a great product, I would buy again.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There is a negative result

Used with Starlink

I've had it installed for 24 hours now and it seems to be working fine. I wanted something to protect my house from the cable coming off the Starlink dish and it seems to be getting a pretty high rating. So a 100 foot wire is plugged directly into it, it is grounded to house ground, and then a short 3 foot 24 AWG S/FTP wire connects the surge protector to the power supply. The speeds are absolutely the same (300+ Mbps).

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Spark tubes instead of varistors

Seems to work just as well as the one originally provided by my ISP. Maybe even better. The original is equipped with varistors that can overheat and explode if struck by lightning. This one is equipped with spark gap tubes that are less likely to explode. Varistors have other advantages and spark lamps have other disadvantages, but I prefer spark tubes for this application. A few thunderstorms later it's still going strong, which I can't tell about the latest version of the varistor. But then…

Protects AT&T U-verse modems

AT&T U-verse gateways are notoriously vulnerable to nearby lightning strikes. Every time a thunderstorm hits our area, an AT&T truck spends the next day replacing burned-out equipment. For three years we have lost many sluice boxes. After being installed in multiple locations for a year and a half, not a single gateway failed. Great product very easy to install just make sure it is connected to a very good earth ground. It uses gas discharge tubes (the same ones AT&T uses that are installed on…

Pros
  • Many will fit
Cons
  • Minor issues

I use them often. They are inexpensive and meet the requirements. Plug & Play saves time by not stripping cables or punching wires. Simply connect each RJ45, attach a ground wire and install. The only problem is that each cable should have 2; one at the entrance of the building and one at the equipment. They are not suitable for outdoor use in places with high humidity, especially near the sea. Otherwise they work in this price range. Update: suck rubber seals. They do not seal cable entries…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Disappear

mostly works: Accessories and consumables

I had a real life lightning damage incident which served as a test of this device in real life conditions. That's what happened. The IP camera protecting this device was damaged (failure) BUT unlike last time the damage was limited to this thing only (success). Last time I also had a broken POE switch and other cameras on a wired network. I only took off one star because there are NO guarantees for lightning and some protection is better than none. Well, to protect myself, I did what you should

Pros
  • Brilliantly finished
Cons
  • Appearance

Not working for accessories and consumables

The unit I received is either defective or not working as described. I can't return the item because I didn't keep the original packaging (obviously my fault) but sometimes it doesn't even register a signal between two NIC targets (green LAN indicator at termination points) or if it does then it just indicates that 100 MB is not a gigabit (orange instead of green). I know the cable isn't the issue because I use it on both my server and HTPC and they both transmit over the same cables at gigabit

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

True gigabit speeds to fix broken AT&T installs

I just installed the AT&T Gigapower service. Two weeks later, a storm hit my area and the AT&T router burned down. Along with this, 2 of my managed 24-port gigabit switches connected to the router were also powered off. AT&T came in and replaced the router, but refused to take responsibility for any damage to my network equipment. I looked at AT&T's crappy work and found that they DID NOT GROUND the wire going into the house. They also do NOT even have a 3 pin power supply on their ONT unit in…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Update 02 August 2018: Works as described! TL:DR - I've had this block for 1 1/2 years now. A few weeks ago we had 5 days of continuous heavy thunderstorms. I'm not just talking about heavy rains, I mean heavy lightning every day for 5 days. It was terrible. These storms have caused many fires in our area. So how did they survive? I have four built-in Tupavco safeguards that start outside my home to protect all downstream network connections before they get into my main house and eventually…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
