Great product with a very silly problem

This could be a great product if it weren't for a silly problem - it can't be used with an Apple extender. I have no idea why they made such a design mistake :(( So sad :(((

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Reliability

Not suitable for Apple products!

My daughter lost her plug because of her MacBook Air charger. I think it would be great to give her my old one and keep the red one to herself so she knows it's mine and stays away. The parts did not match the Apple charger at all. I have both small and large Apple MacBook Air chargers. Didn't fit either. I returned this product and purchased the entire charger directly from Apple.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Decent adapter in chargers and adapters

Glad to find this little contraption but was dismayed when it arrived because the red plastic was not the red opaque fire engine as pictured but was transparent or translucent. Cherry, which makes everything seem cheap and of poor quality. It works well and I'm sure it will come in handy when traveling so I don't have to carry as many adapters for Apple products. It just seems overpriced for a perceived quality that doesn't match high-end Apple products.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Easy maintenance

WILL NOT FIT APPLE POWER CABLES

I wanted to use it with an Apple USB-C power bank so I could connect both iPhone (USB) and iPad Pro (USB-C) power cables. Apple's C is too short to reach a desk when plugged into an outlet. Apple's solution is to sell a separate power cord. Twelve South didn't use a standard plug hole, so you can't use an Apple power cord or plug from an Apple power bank. It must be plugged directly into an outlet and used only with the appropriate adapters.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Only available in black

This is a great concept, I've been traveling with it for three years now (except last year when it was used 24/7 at home. I liked it, but .but .but .there is a design flaw.Apple adapters are heavy and after 8-9 months the PlugBug fell off the wall (in the US and Japan). The original Apple adapter/plug fits very well and lasts for years, but this one The plastic used in the PlugBug adapter is getting weaker (:- ?) or something like that and falls off the wall charger every 2-3 weeks. Then I haveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine

Great adapter with very stupid problems

I had PugBug World (old version) for my old Macbook. I liked that the new version has two additional USB ports. So I invested some stupid money into the new version without really caring to realize what a great product I already had. Too bad I didn't do proper research. The big problem with the new PlugBug is that the part of the adapter that allows you to switch to different plugs for each region of the world to suit local sockets NO LONGER WORKS FOR THE APPLE CHARGER, and also the Apple plugโ€ฆ

Plugbug Duo does NOT work with Apple extenders or power connectors

I used the word plug bug (previous generation) for years. When my work laptop was upgraded to a Macbook with USB-C and I found that the old connector bug wouldn't work, I ordered a new one. The new plug bug works as described, but makes it look older due to some changes. One of the great things about the old plug bug was that Apple parts could be plugged in from either side - I could use a small foldable US power plug or, more importantly, an Apple power strip. I could also use it with a laptop

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • There are bugs

Brilliant idea that doesn't work

I like the plugbug idea. It even has an awesome name. I love my bug plugin! It's a little creature that lives on my charger! Well, it doesn't work very well with other cables that Apple gives you, or even with the Apple outlet "bits" that you can usually click onto the power adapter. It's ok, they give you a whole bunch of new ones. you would think The point, dear reader, is that Plugbug's main downside isn't that it's too smart or too complicated for its own good. He just doesn't want to stayโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Too stupid

Expensive but compact lifesaver!

Other companies offer USB power adapters for a fraction of the price of this unit that deliver plenty of power. So if you want to charge multiple devices and have an open outlet, this is a grossly overpriced thing. But after my wife and I had our first child, it was just impossible to go to the office to work on the computer. The only place in our living room that I can plug everything into is an outlet, so the choice was to either plug in my laptop or unplug it and plug in a USB charger toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
