TYC 620630 03-08 Ty Mtrx At Rad and Condenser (S) Cfa Review

This was a 5 minute job on my 2007 Pontiac Vibe. I disconnected the wiring harness from the fan shroud, using a 10mm socket on a ratchet, loosened the two screws holding the shroud in place and unclipped the two plastic brackets. It came straight in and then I canceled the process of installing a new one. It's so quiet and works great after 1 month!

This fan fits perfectly in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe and kept the car cool the whole time while it was working; about 2 ½ years, then the fan died. Not the longest shelf life, but I paid about $60 for it instead of $250, so can't really complain that it still lasted over two years. I'm buying a new one today to replace it; If it lasts at least two more years, I'll be happy with the price.

Basically a 10 minute job. Ensure the engine is cold and if unsure remove the negative battery terminal, disconnect the electrical connection to the fan and clip the 2 cable retainers. (You can use zip ties on the new fan assembly for wires) Remove 2 x 10mm screws, one on each side. Detach the hose from the expansion tank to the radiator. Pull out the assembly and replace it. yes it is easy Works great, fan speed is good. Huge savings compared to locally purchased options. Packed well enough.

Purchased for a 2006 Toyota Corolla (same engine as the Toyota Matrix). I like this unit over the OEM because the coolant reservoir is more transparent and you can read the coolant level better. Installation requires only two screws, hose and electrical connector. The total installation time was less than 10 minutes including transferring the coolant from the old unit. Fits straight onto my 2007 Toyota Corolla. UPDATE: About 8 months after purchase, the expansion tank started to leak. Warranty replacement for this item is not clear. TYC insists that Revain must replace the item as the original wholesaler, while Revain initially argued that TYC must replace it. After some evasion I was put through to a Revain call center rep who was able to process the refund with no further problems.
