Heater Bracket for XTERRA Great Price

Excellent repair for my XTERRA. Installed for a few months, no leaks. Combined with Dorman tubes, it eliminates the heater core leakage problems that plagued the first generation XTERRA. Close to OEM but slightly smaller to help with installation.

Pros
  • Spare Parts
Cons
  • Can't remember

The thickness of the replacement core was about a third thinner than the original, if I know anything about thermodynamics, that would decrease the exchange rate of thermal energy between the two systems. I decided to keep and reuse my thicker factory core.

Pros
  • Heater
Cons
  • Doubtful

After installing this block we found that it was leaking in the bottom seam. The firewall extension tube brackets were not square and I had to round the holes in the firewall to make adjustments and of course by the time I got around to installing it it was past its return date so it's mine now. I've installed several heater cores in various cars, so this isn't my first rodeo. I bought one locally and the installation was great. If you buy one of these TYC blocks be sure to look at the mounting

Pros
  • Heater Cores
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
