Our computer controlled electrostatic coating process results in a consistent grain application. Uart pastel paper is ph neutral and acid free. It can accept under painting using a wide variety of media’s such as water, oil, mineral spirits, turpenoid and alcohol. After the under painting process, the tooth still holds many layers of pastel and the grain will remain affixed to the paper. Uart is available in seven grades from 240 to 802.

Packing problems! Who doesn't think!

Great product but $20 plastic flip flops come in a waterproof plastic bag and $40 sandpaper in a box! Considering it's raining, what's wrong with this picture!

. Level 800 becomes rougher and more difficult to apply fine details. I used sheet 800.

I found the 800 grit to be coarser and more difficult to apply fine detail. I used 800 sheet for a portrait and struggled with the pattern for a while before realizing it was actually paper texture. For portraits I would recommend the inferior UArt paper. I didn't use 320 but I did use the 400 class which I felt was a lot handier. I really liked the 400 for landscapes.

excellent sandpaper

Uart Sanded Pastel Paper #320 is a very valuable and excellent product. I'm new to pastel and didn't realize the importance of getting the right score for the right project. 320 is a good all-around texture. It holds many layers of chalk without losing the last layer you're working on. The 600 and 800 are much better and good for fine detail, portraits or animals, but for landscapes and general work the course class has more teeth and is more "workable".
