Only 2.4 electronics

Ubiquiti is my choice for WiFi and switching even though this device is only 2.4 gigahertz. All my smart home devices run at just 2.4 gigahertz. So this device does an excellent job of providing Wi-Fi to all my switches and outlets.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Sad device

Good product! best networking products

Ubiquiti has done it again with a great and easy to use product. I have several Unifi products at home and have always found them easy to set up and consistent to use. Although they are better known in the trade, I have noticed that their products are almost ready. Installing this unit was easy and it looks great on the wall. The main purpose of this device is to provide WiFi in our homes with Ring Doorbell. In the future I plan to buy a new UAP-IW that offers both 5GHz and 2.4GHz.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Some troubles

Good idea, but needs improvement.

Good idea, but still needs some work. The signal is also only 2.4 GHz. It's okay, but it would be nice to have 5GHz. If there is another access point even close to this unit, the access point has priority over this unit. You must be in a true dead zone to connect/bounce to this device. It's a great idea, I just don't know what else it is with its ultimate app. Notes: The device says it can connect at 150Mbps. While this is true and you can connect at 150Mbps, the connection to the switch is…

Pros
  • Fits a lot of people
Cons
  • This makes me angry

Very close to excellent but be careful with POE requirements.

I wanted to love this device so bad. I have several large Pro APs and this will help fill the small gap in coverage I had. Both Pro APs are powered by a midspan POE injector, but this device only powers on when connected to the switch according to their support, so only 802.3.af view will work. This is one place I could use it, I would need to have a gig network. So close but not quite

  • Best in its niche

Bought 2 ubitiqui unifi hotspots - one didn't work

I have a small hotel and have equipped all the rooms with ubitiqui unifi hotspots in the wall, which work great. In this case I ordered 2 units, but unfortunately only one works, the other does not. It's a shame as living in the DR it's more of a hassle for me to ship it back to the States than just ordering another one. I guess I can't blame the retailer as it looks like a fabric defect, but $70 is just wasted. But overall I can really recommend these access points.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • I'll add later

The only wireless solution that has ever worked for me.

The best investment I've ever made and one that really fixes my WiFi problems. UPDATE: There is a room in my house that is not receiving a radio signal, in short the previous owner built the room as an annex and lined the walls and ceiling with metal mesh making the room look like a Faraday cage. One CAT5e cable per room with one of these provides wired and wireless access even in a "cage" with no wall/ceiling access point. :)

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Protection

A good product. We had a tiny dead zone because .

Good product. We had a tiny dead zone due to the thick concrete walls which this solves perfectly. works fine with our existing ap setup. Note that this requires PoE devices other than washing machines. I ended up having to order another adapter from Revain but now everything works great.

Pros
  • Certificate GOLS
