The model looks great when assembled, but there are problems starting it up. More specifically, I have a clutch. A few small wooden rattles should wear everything down. It just slips and doesn't shift. Other than that, it's a great build.

Really great model! Everything is coming together, so let's go. The large rubber bands for lifting the wings are very tight. He actually broke the wooden tool he gave me, so I used the metal hook I had at home. The gears are finicky but look super cool as a model.

The model is so thin that nothing can hold it. After 2 hours of trying to put the wings back together I just broke them off and threw them away. What a waste of money for this rubbish. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to it. But now it looks really cool when smashed in the trash.

Before I had time to read 5 pages of instructions, it started falling apart and the gears started grinding. The parts do not fit together exactly and are made of fragile wood. A part is just as likely to break when you remove it from the frame as when you simply put it back together. I finally gave up when the main shaft that turns the gears spun in place and broke like a toothpick.

Bought this kite as a project during the pandemic as it looks really cool. The mechanism is very cool! The instructions were very detailed and easy to read. The wooden parts were quite strong. It has some useful wooden parts to help you build your kite. However, it's best to have tweezers (or bobby pins) to help put the piece of gum together, as wooden tools can break during this process (like mine). It took me about 2 days to complete. The instructions are easy to follow, you really need to follow them closely to make it move like it should.
