We tried the first non-caterpillar litter from the same brand which worked well but I was concerned it was too harsh on our kittens' paws in the top entrance bowl so I decided to try pearls. And they really are pearls. The top entry drawer is great at keeping junk from getting everywhere, but these little gems just fly around the house like crazy. Yes it is great at absorbing urine and controlling odors, I just wish the beads were a little less than ideal beads.

They are not round like in the description. These are large sharp crystals. I wanted to try round beads because my cat has only used sand-like microcrystals so far, but they end up in my bed. I do not like it at all. Rschunimagu. So I figured the rounded crease would be soft too. I didn't mind them skating. I just don't want sand in my bed. I have only found this filling effective for 5 days with 2 cats. After 5 days it was soaked in urine and my dog refused to use it until I applied a clean top coat to stretch it for a week - when the box and bedding were replaced. Large crystal balls rolled and were difficult to sweep. I stepped on the "pearls" many times and they broke on the floor. I used this litter for about 2 years because it was prime. I'm not sure what Prime is, but I want my new throw selection to be Prime. NLM

Product as advertised and safe for cats. It has good absorbency and leaves no odor. My only issue is that the beads roll all over the place as they are small beads. I wonder if the company can make smooth finished litter (unlike caterpillarless litter which creates a lot more dust in the litter box over time after a cat steps on it and can be sharp when stepped on) . ) which aren't quite round but flattened a bit so they don't roll all over the place.

All my friends who are also cat owners hate this litter because when it spreads on the floor the little beads cause a headache (or rather a foot) . However, I have paired this litter with Litter Genie and a top entry litter box in a high traffic area of my small apartment and it is perfect. My cat and I love it except I use it with Feline Pine cat litter. I use pearls to help absorb and help the scent. I use about 1/4 - 1/3 of a box of pine as my cat seems to prefer anything but beads. Pine also helps me find the wetter areas of the box. Only at Pearls can the floor sometimes get wet after a few weeks. PINE helps me to find it.
