These little cartridges only work on the LOW setting!

These little cartridges do a good job, but they don't remove all of the white dust. Our water is very hard I think. What I did was buy an air purifier to help and things got a lot better between the cartridges and the air purifier. I think if you have very hard water this is a must have if you don't want to spend a fortune on distilled water! I would also suggest an air purifier if you can afford it. Pros
  • Replacement cartridges: Depending on the water hardness, each cartridge is sufficient for up to 30 applications with a full tank.
Cons
  • Capacity

Pros
  • Easy Installation: Once installed in the tank, the HoMedics humidifier is ready to use; 4-pack for several months of use and easy replacement
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was

"White dust" due to minerals in the water. Most readers already know that when used in water humidifiers, a fine white film is formed in some places by minerals. After "fogging" the room, residual mineral dust settles on horizontal and other surfaces. This is most noticeable in our home with black or dark objects. A black article is our "tester” for this. (In our case, it's an air-purifying machine that causes the dust to settle instead of floating in the air.) I dusted daily and then estimated
