Great for hobbyists Good for portable CB radios

I installed an external antenna and for indoor use I was able to pick up some truckers. In a car with a standard antenna and plugged into the cigarette lighter, it was also possible to hear truckers on the freeway. I can't solve the transmission range problem because I have yet to get in touch. As a hobbyist and not someone who needs this device for important travel, I enjoy it immensely. The car had a CB a few years ago so it's nice to revisit that.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some cons

Not the biggest. - Portable AV

Works at about 200 yards. little. It is better to spend a little more and get a device with a battery. Batteries are more expensive than the device itself. Personally, I think (I know) I wasted my money, living and learning. The cigarette lighter plug also broke so I don't use it. Also, I refuse to spend $16 for 4 rechargeable batteries when it lasts 9. Think of it as a waste of money for something that doesn't work anyway.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Working but limited antenna included

I bought two of these radios. They work as expected. With the included antenna you can reach about 200-250 yards at full power. With a more optimal antenna, they work like any other full-featured CB radio. Even if you can only use one full-size antenna on one device, performance will be greatly improved. When you need range and portability, UHF FRS walkie talkies are for you. These radios use AM at 27MHz, which allows them to "talk" farther than UHF FM in no-line-of-sight environments. If…

Why people like to complain

I don't understand why people like to complain. Don't get into the CB hobby if you don't know what you're doing. Do your research first. CB radio is legally 4W while SSB is 12W. Find out the difference. An antenna will not give you the range you want. There are other antennas that you can buy online that will take you far. The device can only be charged when it is switched off. If you don't hear anyone say, there is no one there. Nobody around you might have the problem and not use CB. People…

I haven't had that for a long time!

Upgrade 4: up to 4 stars. After setting this radio where it should be. SITREP - I contacted Uniden to find out why it's not putting out the full 4 watts. and nothing! I didn't get anything back. You probably don't need to open it up and change the power supply; like this! Without…
