Exceeded Expectations

We wanted something a little more upscale than a standard wire nail and this device exceeded our expectations. Our dogs, all three nine-year-olds, are totally enthusiastic. Our 50# boxer, not pictured, can see over the edge but doesn't try to get out. The clasp is secure, easy to assemble and well built. We are VERY happy with this pen. We bought two extra slabs to expand the block. UPDATE: We liked it so much we bought another one for our bedroom without the extra panels. Dogs sleep better…

Suitable as an octagon for doors, gates and ramps

When I first bought this gate/pen my lab dog was 8 weeks old and at that age he could still move it when jumping. I've only ever used it in the octagon shape. It's so heavy that I couldn't move it LIGHTLY to use as a gate. If I did, I'd have to lug it around, and the weight makes it too much of a fiasco to switch between the two. My dog chewed through every leg, so now there's no leg left. At the moment I have never been able to use it as a goal because there is no support to help it tip over…

This works depending on the setup.

was damaged Overall I was able to get it to do its job. It just took a little "tinkering". The cage itself wobbles a bit and becomes unbalanced when the door is opened. From my point of view, too, the feeling was not safe. Even though they were free it's a pretty strong gate and barrier. I did my job after propping the ends against the walls and pushing down a toy box or trash can. It's also mobile, so you can pick it up and put it somewhere else (although it's a bit heavy and wobbles a bit)…

Very good quality and adaptability

This is a high quality pet barrier. They look great in your home and don't look cheap. You don't have to change door frames or anything like that. The ONLY nitpick I have is the latch. While it works great I think it would be much better if it could be positioned higher on the barrier so an adult doesn't have to bend down to use it. I'll most likely take a slightly different latch and install it at the top where it's easier to reach. The hinges are nicely designed, allowing sections of the…

Great concept but the loops are too weak to hold it together.

I liked the concept of this product. I spent hours researching and comparing many goals and arenas before making a purchasing decision. The wood is too heavy for hinges and screws. all parts fell out and scattered. I've tried using anchors and re-drilling them but that only caused the hinges to bend and eventually break. All loops need to be tighter to hold this. If this part was fixed it would be a great $198 investment. Very versatile and stylish look. It's not like those ugly plastic "pack…

Excellent/VERY DURABLE for 2 small dogs

Versatile. I have a large opening and like to keep my dogs in that area. For 2 small dogs, a Pekingese jumps on it, holds it well. You like to scratch him and he still holds on. I can't say I don't like it. He doesn't move like my other one. The legs keep him stable. I added 2 extra feet. This is a BIG GATE! ALSO VERY HEAVY! BEWARE! I can use it in many different ways in my home. I fenced off a large area with it. I then used it to fence off the kitchen by placing it differently. It's very…

Attractive goals that work well!

Excellent goal! We have a large double door and needed something to keep my dog from jumping/scratching on the door while we were away and this helped. Wide enough to fit in our large doorways, tall enough to intimidate my 75 pound dog and very sturdy. I was concerned that I would not find something large enough, and also that it would be unattractive and difficult to remove. This one is pretty heavy if you're about to pick it up straight, so be careful. But it folds easily as the hinges allow…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • The list will be long.

The hardware is a bit flimsy and cheap, the holes in mine weren't drilled and I had to drill them to get the hardware screws in. Screws are junk, very soft metal will snap off with a screwdriver, so don't use a screwdriver when reassembling without first drilling the holes. For the price, there should be another foot for stability. Good Qualities: Looks great, works great, keeps the St. Bernard puppy out of places we don't want them to go in. Also presents a barrier for our adult Great Dane…

DANGER for puppies! suitable for playpens

DO NOT buy! This article was TERRIBLE! I searched for hours before I found it and thought it was perfect (mainly because it matches my decor). until I actually got it in the mail. It's not stable (even after inserting the two extra legs I bought to stabilize it). One of the hinge screws was missing, causing the door to not close properly. The gate also tilts when I leave the door open. When my 20kg puppy sits next to him he moves. AND THE WORST IS A SECURITY HAZARD. My 8 week old puppy got his…
