Does whatever he has to do. We used it to screen people who came to sporting events at a private school. The only drawback is the VERY short battery life. Plan to buy LOTS of 9V batteries.

I bought this unit to find nails in scrap wood and it worked perfectly, detecting spots where nails or knobs were embedded below the surface and not visible. Battery life was ok too. I understand that my case might be a bit unusual, but in terms of functionality, this is a great little tool!

I bought this to find arrows that missed their target and went into the ground. I definitely work for the reason I got it. With this one I found all the arrows I lost in the ground. I have to guide it across the ground where the arrow is and it buzzes very quickly as it traverses the metal parts of the arrow.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought it because of the low price. But after using this metal detector for a year, I have nothing but praise for this product. Anything containing metal in any form will be lifted, even chewing gum in your pocket will set off an alarm! Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and can recommend this product!

We had to remove the oil tank and I had to mark the sprinkler system. I usually did this by running it and finding the gurgling, but I had to keep the system dry for easier repair after the tank was exhumed. Although most heads are plastic, with the metal detector's increased sensitivity, I was able to easily find the metal springs inside the sprinkler head housings. Did the trick for exactly what I needed it for.

Bought because I had some pool anchors buried in the mulch at the back of the pool that I couldn't find. I was able to find and pinpoint their location within a minute of approaching their general location. It also comes in handy when I'm looking for studs in the wall, because once I find the screw that attaches it to the post, I scan down vertically to find another one to confirm it's not is an incorrect measurement. The main problem was with the sensitivity. Adjusting the device requires adjusting the sensitivity quite a bit, and to do this you'll need to insert a watch screwdriver into a small hole to find an off-center 3/8" screw. However, once this is done, the device works well and detects small nails, but they are only 1/4" to 3/8" deep. I think as the description says this device is for security work only.
