Beware of the USB port: home audio

I bought it for my daughter for Christmas some time ago. She loves old records and enjoys listening to them. So I bought her this record player. After about 6 months, the USB port on the back of the player started having problems. I had to wiggle the cable up and down to get the connection working and the battery in the player to charge. Eventually to get it working I had my daughter fold some books under the USB connector to raise the cable about 1/8 inch so the cable could charge/power the…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons

plays records and is decent enough. The software it comes with is fine for transferring records to modern formats, BUT 1 - the sleeve looks crappy live, its handle and clasp look like they belong in a school lunch box, not a $100 one -Piece. 2 - the speakers themselves are so-so 3 - when connected to the RCA connectors the speakers are not turned off and there is no switch to manually turn the speakers off, it would be nice if they allowed you to do that Using headphones a bit awkward 4 - the…

The biggest POS I've seen in a long time. Garbage.

The first one I received didn't work at all. It was a birthday present for a friend so I had to find a replacement quickly. The replacement was fine for a while. No party music is played throughout the house. It's just not that powerful. But for occasional use I found it ok. NOT CORRECT. I kept it in a safe place, unused for about 8 months. I figured it out, and now the speed is completely screwed up (it slows down if you put a needle on it), and apparently the needle doesn't even play with the

Perfect portable turntable

Bought this turntable mainly for picnics. Does the job well, great for the price. Very well built and feels great. Doesn't look like a Chinese knockdown. Now for the audio part. Most recordings (including the adapter) play very well with the built-in speakers. The volume control is good too. The maximum volume is not too loud, perhaps to save battery. The sound quality matches the price (NOT AUDIOPHILIC LEVEL). Variable speeds are also handy. It has RCA outputs for connecting to external…

So far, so good! suitable for record player

I have wanted a record player for a long time. I grew up listening to my dad's records and always loved the sound and I just loved the look and feel of records. I put off buying a real player for a long time because as a "newbie" I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I found this along with a video review and it seemed easy enough to understand. Today I received it, opened the box and almost immediately everything worked. The only thing I miss is the plug that fits into the socket to charge…

Works great and sounds great

I wanted to play 78s EASILY and my stereo could only play 45s and 33s so I bought this unit and am very happy with it. I haven't connected it to larger speakers yet, but the cinch sockets on the back make it possible. Sounds good. I don't expect CD quality but it's good and very easy to use. The arm-raise lever is handy, and autostop is a nice feature, as the recording will stop when it's nearing the end (although not all recordings, some will stop before the recording ends if you have autostop

Cool Player

I love this player, the built-in battery is AMAZING! When it arrived I took it out and used the included USB cable to connect it to one of my USB chargers (you'll need something like this plug sold here at Revain, cut and paste www.amazon.com/ Adapter-Apple-iPhone -iPad- Black/dp/B004V9L06E/ref=sr_1_38?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1374744120&sr=1-38&keywords=usb+charger+plug ) and started playing vinyl records. I left it on overnight and now three days later tonight I've played four albums on…

Good portable player for the price!

I bought this turntable to play my old 45rpm records to avoid ruining the needles of my good turntables. Most of my 45s are from the 60's and are badly worn from playing them on cheap turntables as a kid. Other than that I'm very happy that it does what I bought it for, pretty well. I would never put one of my old records on it because it has too much downforce, but for a 45 it's perfect. The battery allows you to conveniently carry it from room to room or outdoors without fiddling with cords…
