Good portable player for the price!

I bought this turntable to play my old 45rpm records to avoid ruining the needles of my good turntables. Most of my 45s are from the 60's and are badly worn from playing them on cheap turntables as a kid. Other than that I'm very happy that it does what I bought it for, pretty well. I would never put one of my old records on it because it has too much downforce, but for a 45 it's perfect. The battery allows you to conveniently carry it from room to room or outdoors without fiddling with cords and lasts for many hours on a single charge. My kit did not include a USB charger, but did include a USB cable that plugs into a computer to charge and/or record music. To charge it I plugged the USB cable into an iPhone wall charger and it took about 2 hours to fully charge. It also has RCA line outputs for connecting to an external stereo, which is what you need to do if you want louder sound than the internal speakers can deliver. Despite the lack of tone controls, the internal speakers are more than adequate for casual listening. The turntable uses a standard ceramic stylus such as the ION ICT04RS and Crosley 8005 stylus (replacements can be found on Revain or eBay for $10 or less). In fact, the arm and platter assembly are identical to my old ION Archive LP turntable, so I wouldn't be surprised if most brands of portable turntables used the same mechanism. The only small issue I had when I first used it was that the auto stop position sensor wasn't set correctly (it stopped recording about 10 seconds before the end). It was a simple adjustment, requiring the Autostop cam screw to be unscrewed counterclockwise a quarter turn. Pulling the device out of the case, I was struck by the clean, modular architecture of the entire package. In summary, I would recommend this table to anyone who needs a wireless turntable to listen to old records. However, due to the high downforce and the cheap needle, I wouldn't advise playing valuable collector's vinyl on it. But if you don't care about record wear, then it doesn't matter. I hope this review is helpful to those considering purchasing Pyle. At $59.95, nothing else could match the built-in battery.
